Abstract

1444138 Suction cleaning apparatus CORIARII EST 8 Sept 1973 42356/73 Heading A4F Apparatus for removing dust from dressed skins comprises a suction chamber 6 having a suction orifice adjacent which is an assembly of idler rollers 21 preventing undue flexing of an air permeable conveyer belt 3 having a face engaging a skin to be treated, and adjacent which face is a nozzle 20 for supplying a jet of air and a suction aperture 18. In the illustrated embodiment, skins are fed to the belt 3 by an air permeable belt 2 passing over idler rollers 21 adjacent a suction orifice in a suction chamber 5. On leaving the belt 6, the skins are conveyed by a further air permeable belt 4 over a suction orifice in a suction chamber 7 and beneath a further air nozzle 20. Jets from the nozzles 20 remove dust from opposite faces of the skins which dust is drawn by suction through apertures 18, 19 at the sides of each nozzle to be evacuated via tubes 24. After passing the second aperture 19 the skins are brushed by a brush 25.
