Abstract

1443057 Fencing; barriers ALLIBERT EXPLOITATION 2 Oct 1973 [18 Oct 1972 20 July 1973] 45907/73 Heading E1B A fencing panel comprising a plurality of spaced uprights held by end posts 2, e.g. for a temporary road barrier, is built up by snapfitting together identical plastics uprights 4 each having one or more integral spacing tenons 7a longitudinally slidable into corresponding sockets 8a. As shown each upright is of castellated cross-section 11-12a-12b and has upper and lower tenons 7a, 7b of channelsection each having a snap-fit boss 18. Each socket 8a extends across the upright and is defined by three side wall openings and by horizontal plates 17a, 17b. Registering apertures 21a, 21b' serve for wiring the fencing panel to the posts 2. The tenons are omitted from the end upright 6a. The uprights may be of red or white polyethylene. In a modification, Figs. 6-9 (not shown), each upright has short integral transverse upper and lower tubes of circular or other section each providing a snap-fit spigot and socket, reinforcing wires (28) being passed through the aligned spigots and sockets, and through end caps, for straining to end posts (2).
