Abstract

1442898 Pneumatic conveyers B BISINGER 19 Feb 1974 7532/74 Heading B8A Fibrous material is conveyed by injection of air near the entry of a delivery pipe and suction at the other end of the pipe, the material being delivered as required to a plurality of hoppers branching from the delivery pipe. The pressure along the delivery pipe and thus the rate at which the material is conveyed may be altered by adjusting the outputs of the injection and the suction blower independently. In the Figure suction blower 12 also provides pressurised air for injection via pipe 13. Flap valve 17 in pipe 13 operates to adjust the injection pressure, while flap valve 16 either upstream or downstream of a condenser 3 which collects and returns undelivered material operates to adjust the suction pressure.
