Abstract

1442032 Mounting cycle saddles M L P J CORDEROCH 15 Jan 1974 [5 Feb 1973] 01909/74 Heading B7E An assembly for mounting a cycle saddle of the type having a pair of mounting rods 7 extending longitudinally thereof in spaced parallel relationship comprises a plate for carrying the rods, at least one clamping member located to overlie the rods, a support member adapted to be mounted on the cycle frame and having a head on which the plate rests for tilting movement about an axis arranged to extend transversely of the rods 7, and a pair of adjustable fasteners located one to each side of the tilt axis extending through the head and plate and each engaging with the or a respective clamping member to cause the clamping member or members to clamp the rods to the plate, tilting movement of the plate being effecting by tightening one fastener and loosening the other. In the Fig. 1 embodiment the plate 5 has an integrally formed rib 8 through which it rests on the head 4 for tilting movement, and two clamping members 9a and 9b are provided in the form of tubes having grooves 10a, 10b to receive the rods 7 and screw-threaded bores receiving fastening bolts 12a, 12b whose heads are located in counter bores in the head 4. The Fig. 1 embodiment may be modified, Fig. 4, not shown, by forming the head 4 as a body of revolution about the axis of the support member 3. In the alternative embodiment illustrated in Fig. 6 the plate 5<SP>1</SP> rests for tilting movement on a ridge 81 formed on the head 411, and a single clamping member is provided in the form of a grooved plate 16 attached by bolts 19a, 19b secured by nuts 22a, 22b abutting the underside of the head. The plate 5 or 51 may have grooves to receive the rods 7.
