Abstract

Two pieces of sheet metal are used for the clamp. The first piece has a figure 8 shaped hole and is bent to form a long narrow 'U' shape (2, 3) when seen from the side. One of the bolts (9) fits in the bottom of the 'U' and the narrow part of the figure 8 is at this point. The top part of the 'U' curves over the second bolt (10). The second sheet steel piece does not grip the frame tube but is bent up at the sides to grip the first piece when the ruts on the bolts are tightened. The sides of the first piece are cut away between the bolts and on tightening the nuts thus piece bends to grip the frame member.
