Magnesium and like powder lamps.-A flashlight apparatus for photographic purposes comprises a lighter A of the type described in Specification 116,501, [Class 75 (iii), Lamps &c., Details &c.], provided with side brackets D, D' which support arms C riveted to a flash-light powder-container B. The container B has its front side B<1> hinged to carry the powder and is formed with, an opening opposite the lighter. When the lighter trigger is pulled, sparks from the striker pass through the opening and ignite the powder. According to the Provisional Specification, the container is secured to arms pivoted to the lighter and may be swung out of action to allow the lighter to be used as a gas-lighter.
