[Class 75 (i)] A photographer's flashlight lamp comprises a closed and at least partly transparent container 1 provided with a flexible and deformable cap, or plate 9 having no perforation or insertion, and a priming pill 5 adjacent the inner surface of said cap so as to be ignited by actions externally applied to set alight a light generating inflammable material 2 in the container. The external firing action may be a blow by a pin 6 or by a spring striker, or the production of heat. Various forms of strikers, and caps and materials therefor are described. The inflammable light generating material may be magnesium, aluminium, misch-metal, calcium, or their alloys in the form of powder, wire, ribbon, or foil. The container may be evacuated or may contain oxygen or halogenides. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also modifications in which (1) a rod extending through the cap into the container operates a friction primer or breaks a small container releasing a phosphorus compound or other material producing ignition ; (2) a priming wire or cord for example of an agglomerated mixture of magnesium powder and lead oxide, antimony trioxide, or sodium peroxide, with or without resin, bakelite, or wood metal passes through the cap to transmit ignition from outside ; and (3) the container is provided with internal or external reflecting metallizations. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 368,531 and 405,248.
