1440040 Treating timber CHEMISCHE FABRIK KALK GmbH 17 May 1974 [22 May 1973] 22061/74 Addition to 1268691 Heading DIP [Also in Division A5] The combustibility of timber and its tendency to rot is reduced by applying onto the surface of a stack of timber, a powdered or granular composition containing solid calcium chloride, solid magnesium chloride or a mixture thereof and a non-ionogenic wetting agent. Preferred wetting agents are the alkylphenolpolyglycol ethers. The hygroscopic chlorides form a concentrated solution which penetrates the stack evenly.
