In the arrangement shown, a supplement. tary piston 4 is adjusted by an aneroid box 6. The Specification states that the mechanism may comprise a relay and a locking-device, and that the clearance may be varied by moving the cylinders or the crank-shaft, or by providing means for lengthening the pistons.
