Abstract
1438442 Overload release G NAUD 1 July 1974 [29 June 1973] 29125/74 Headings A1B and A1P An overload release mechanism is provided on an agricultural machine and allows unlocking of a tool frame 1 to allow pivotal movement on a chassis 2 of the frame 1 when an obstruction is met. The mechanism comprises two auxiliary hydraulic control jacks 12 joined via calibrated valve 41 and non- return valve 42 to a main control jack 27. When an obstruction is met pressure increases in the jacks 12 due to relative movement of the frame 1 and chassis 2 and hence also increases in the main jack 27 thus releasing a retaining element 21 of the frame 1 from a locking member 23, which is moved away from the frame 1 on pressure increase in the main jack 27 and returns by a spring when the obstruction is passed. Calibration valve 41 is adjustable to alter the unlocking pressure. In another embodiment the jack 27 is activated by an electro-valve operated by two monostats connected to the jacks 12, or by a manual switch.
