Abstract

950,566. Tractor power-lift mechanisms. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Feb. 23, 1962 [Feb. 25, 1961], No. 7048/62. Heading A1P. A tractor power-lift mechanism includes automatic draft control in which the controlling signal originates from a summation of the effects of at least those forces which occur in two vertically spaced links of the lift linkage. Hydraulic pistons 33 are associated one with each of the links 20, 21, 22 of a three-point linkage and are operated by levers 23, 24, 25 in response to the forces existing in the links to move a 'summation' piston 39 which operates a control member 41 to control the pressure fluid fed to the ram 47. The connection between the levers 23, 24, 25 and the control member 41 may alternatively be either mechanical, using Bowden cables, or electrical. In the embodiment of figure 7 the lower lift links 22 pivot a lever 72 about a pivot 70 and this lever has a pin and slot connection with a lever 78 fixed to a shaft 74 which is turned by a lever 75 in response to movements of the upper link 20. The movement of the levers 72, and 78 thus provide a summation of the effects of the forces acting in the upper and lower links and the resultant is fed through links 83, 84, 85 to the control member 41. In a further embodiment the two levers 72, 78 are replaced by a leaf spring. It is stated that the lift linkage may comprise two or more links connected to the tractor chassis at different levels.
