Air, treating; pipes, arrangements of; forced ventilation.-In ventilation systems for mines, ships, theatres and other buildings, in which two lines of pipes are employed, one for supplying fresh air and the other for extracting foul air, the pipes are made in sections which can be readily connected and disconnected, and they are connected to blowers or fans which are independent of each other and are operated by separate means. Any fluid, such as hot air, or liquid or gaseous disinfectant, may be supplied to the air passing to the pressure main B, by means of a box E, the fluid being supplied by the injector action of the air passing through a nozzle in the box. Taps b<1> - - - b<4>control the supply of air, and a fan D may be operated by the air pressure to distribute the fresh air. The extractor pipe C is shown provided with collectors c<1>, c' for foul air, and also with collectors F', F<2> which may be used as vacuum cleaners or for the removal of dust created by a drilling or boring tool.
