Abstract

1436636 Smoke filters S BERKOWITZ 7 May 1973 21696/73 Heading A2C A tobacco smoking structure includes a unitary insert postioned intermediate two filters having different draw resistances, the insert permitting the passage of smoke from one filter to the other, and a sheath around the filters and the insert maintaining them in alignment. The insert may be of silicone, polystyrene, polyurethane, rubber, aluminium or low density polypropylene. One or both filters may be cellulose acetate, mylina paper, cottonwool or charcoal. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the insert 10 is cylindrical having two flat axially spaced faces 12, 14. A venturi forming passageway 16 is provided through the insert. In an embodiment (not shown) the insert 10 forms part of a cigarette.
