938,902. Cigarettes. IMPERIAL TOBACCO CO. (OF GREAT BRITAIN & IRELAND) Ltd. June 18, 1962 [June 30, 1961], No. 23648/61. Class 130. In a filter-tipped cigarette 3 having a connector band 1 joining the tobacco part to the filter stub 2, which is itself covered by a sleeve, a zone of the band 1 not covered on smoking is perforated and the sleeve beneath the zone is also perforated, the perforations in the sleeve and band being arranged so that some coincide. The perforations in the sleeve may be larger than those in the band. The zone of perforations in the band 1 extends for about half the filter stub length, whereas those in the sleeve may extend throughout the whole length of the stub. When the band is made of cork or imitation cork the perforations therein may correspond to the lacunµ of the cork pattern.
