1339238 Filter cigarette BRITISH-AMERICAN TOBACCO CO Ltd 16 Feb 1972 [3 March 1971] 7198/72 Heading A2C A ventilated filter cigarette 10 comprises a tobacco section 11 united to a filter section 12 by a tipping paper 16 having openings 17 to provide a filter ventilation area and, interposed between the filter ventilation area and the tobacco section, a plug 13 provided with openings 18; the size and number of openings being such that as they become progressively clogged during smoking they increase the draw resistance through the tobacco section 11 and thus increase the relative proportion of air drawn through the ventilation openings 17 compared with the smoke drawn through the plug 13.
