Abstract

1436321 Venting apparatus WILLIAM PRESS & SON Ltd 30 May 1973 [20 March 1972] 13017/72 Heading B8V [Also in Division F4] Apparatus for ventilating an underground pit 5 containing a gas pressure governor valve associated with a gas main, comprises a fresh air inlet duct 7 and a gas/air outlet duct 6 both extending from the lower end, as shown, of a cabinet 2, the duct 6 opening into an air inlet D to the cabinet 2, and a wind-driven extraction fan 4 at the upper end of a stack 3 leading from the cabinet 2, whereby, in use, operation of fan 4 draws gas/air from the pit 5 through duct 6 to be mixed with fresh air in inlet D and then exhausted to atmosphere through stack 3 and simultaneously draws fresh air through duct 7 into the pit 5. Pressure recorders 8a, 8b are coupled to the gas main upstream and downstream respectively of the governor valve. The cabinet 2 includes a gas-tight access door.
