Abstract

PURPOSE: To feed outside air into a tunnel securely by a method wherein one end of a blowing duct is connected to a blower fitted at an air intake port of the tunnel, and the other end of the duct is opened at a position between the intake port and an exhaust port.
CONSTITUTION: A blowing duct 3 is arranged in the tunnel 1 in which a power cable 2 is laid. One end of the duct 3 is connected to a blower 5 fitted at an air intake port 4 of the tunnel 1, the other end being opened at a proper place in the tunnel 1 between the port 4 and an exhaust port 6 and directed toward the exhaust port 6. A blower 7 is placed in the tunnel 1 near the intake port 4 and directed toward the exhaust port 6, while an exhaust fan 8 is placed in the tunnel 1 near the exhaust port 6 and directed toward the outlet of the port 6. In this way, outside air can be fed into the tunnel 1 through the duct 3 to improve the working environment in the tunnel and cool the cable 2, thereby securing the power transmitting capacity.
