Squirting.-In an extrusion press for tubes, the mandrel 15, preferably of high-speed tool steel, is adjustably clamped in the ram 10 by a split tapered socket 16 screwed into the ram. The mandrel is made a loose fit in the end 19 of the ram to diminish risk of breakage at this point.
