Abstract
1435796 Nickel-base alloys INTERNATIONAL NICKEL Ltd 22 Oct 1973 [30 Oct 1972 2 July 1973] 49049/73 Heading C7A A dispersion-strengthened precipitation hardenable alloy consists by weight of:- the balance being nickel and impurities together with a refractory dispersoid which may be an oxide of aluminium, yttrium, lanthamum or cerium or an oxide, carbide, boride or nitride of thorium, zirconium, hafnium or titanium; a particularly preferred dispersoid is 0À2 to 2% yttria. The alloys are produced by mechanical alloying in a high-speed mill, compacted and hot extruded; they are then heat-treated or 1165-1260‹C, and aged at 680 to 1095‹C for 16 to 30 hours. The products are particularly suited for gas turbine blades.
