Abstract

1385163 Titanium alloys TITANIUM METALS CORP OF AMERICA 4 April 1973 [4 April 1972] 16042/73 Heading C7A Alloy compositions having improved properties, especially creep characteristics at temperatures around 1000‹F, consist, by weight of:- 5.7 to 6.95% aluminium 1.08 to 2.7 % tin 0.3 to 2.4 % zirconium 0.4 to 2.2 % molybdenum 0.10 to 0.65% bismuth 0.03 to 0.20% silicon up to 0.15% oxygen up to 0.3 % carbon up to 0.2 % nitrogen the balance being titanium. The alloys are preferably heated to a temperature above 1850‹F annealed at 1300‹ to 1500‹F and preferably aged at 900 to 1200‹F with intermediate air-cooling steps. Apart from creep resistance, they also possess good post-creep ductility and impact properties.
