Abstract

1434800 Transformers and inductors FERBANTI Ltd 24 Oct 1974 [26 Oct 1973] 50089/73 Heading HIT Preformed core sections 11, 11<SP>1</SP> and 12, 12<SP>1</SP> of a transformer or inductor have opposed mating surfaces clamped together by spring members 16 formed from a strip of resilient material (Fig. 3, not shown). The assembly of core and winding 10 is positioned between two locating members (13) which are secured together by rods 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, with threaded ends, and nuts (15). One of the spring members may be replaced by a rigid member. The mating surfaces of the preformed core sections may be shaped to simplify location. Mounting may be by means of tapped pillars attached to one of the locating members 13 and a terminal board may be carried by a locating member 13. The transformer or inductor may be encapsulated.
