Abstract
1433150 Heat-processable photographic silver compound material EASTMAN KODAK CO 12 July 1973 [18 July 1972] 33319/73 Heading G2C A radiation-sensitive heat-processable photographic material comprises a support and contains in a layer or layers thereof: (A) a radiation sensitive silver compound capable of forming centres which catalyze the thermally induced oxidation/ reduction reaction of (B) and (C) to form a visible image on exposure to actinic radiation, (B) a lightinsensitive reducible metal compound and (C) an organic reducing agent therefor, and (D) a toner which is an N-hydroxy-, N-arylcarbamoyloxy- or N-(optionally substituted alkyl)-carbamoyloxy- 1, 8-naphthalimide. The toner (D) may have the Formula:- where R<SP>1</SP> is H or -CO-NHR<SP>3</SP> where R<SP>3</SP> is phenyl or optionally substituted 1-4C alkyl; and R<SP>2</SP> is H, Cl, Br, I, OH, methoxy or 1-4C alkyl. (A) may be silver halide or a silver-dye complex. (B) may be a silver salt of a fatty acid containing more than 12C, silver benzoate, silver benzotriazole, silver terephthalate or silver phthalate. (C) may be a substituted phenol or naphthol e.g. a bis-betanaphthol. The material may contain an additional known toner e.g. phthalimide. Processing may be affected at 80-250C.
