Abstract
1432204 Burning waste gases BOHLERZENKNERSTROMUNGSTECHNIK GmbH & CO KG 26 June 1973 [26 June 1972] 30442/73 Heading F4B In a system for burning combustible material in the waste-gas discharged from an industrial installation, e.g. a drying chamber, the gas is passed from discharge ducts 1a ... 1h and common pipe 2 into a combustion chamber 3 where it is blown by a blower 10 over a heat exchange system 4 for preheating prior to burning the material at a burner 5. The resulting hot gases are drawn by a blower 11 through tubes 6 of the exchanger 4 and exhausted through a chimney 7. The position of the blowers 10, 11 is such as to ensure the pressure within the chamber 3 is substantially similar to ambient atmosphere and the flow of gas throughout the chamber is equalized. The blowers may be positioned outside the chamber, of the cross-flow type and have controllable change-pole or D.C. motors to contend with differing rates of gas flow from the installation.
