Abstract
142,996. Dunlop Rubber Co., and Macbeth, C. April 14, 1919. Feeding and winding webs.-In machines for making pneumatic-tyre covers, of the kind in which canvas stock B and liner material C are unwound from a supply roll A, the canvas stock being finally wound on to the tyre cover F and the liner material being re-wound on to a rebatching roll G, the canvas stock and the liner materials are, before being separated, passed round a guide roll D, which is positively driven, preferably from the shaping roll E. Ratchet gearing D<3>, D<4> permits the roll to rotate anti-clockwise independently of the shaping roll. The re-batching roll may be driven by a belt J, and ratchet gearing J<3> and a tension pulley K may be employed.
