Abstract

Winding webs.-In apparatus for winding and unwinding an endless band such as a kinematograph film &c. from a roll mounted on a mechanically-rotated plate a, the band is guided around a post c mounted at the axis of rotation of the plate until it is of sufficient height to be led to the projection or other apparatus. A bracket o mounted on the upper part of the post c carries a rod p between which and the post c the band is guided. By turning the upper part of the post c relatively to the lower the tension on the band may be varied. The plate a is of funnel shape and formed with a central boss b. Rings r interposed between the roll and the plate and capable of independent movement ensure uniform velocity of the band. The feed sprockets l, m are driven in synchronism with the plate a.
