Abstract

1429601 Electronic timepieces SUWA SEIKOSHA KK 3 Jan 1974 [12 Jan 1973] 00227/74 Heading G3T An electronic timepiece has fast or slow setting facility wherein each time time correcting or setting switch 4, 5 or 6, Fig. 1 for hours, minutes and seconds respectively is held in its time correcting position (i.e. with its armature connected to positive potential) for less than a predetermined time (e.g. 2 seconds) the respective part of the time display 2 (which may be digital) is advanced by one unit. If however the switch, e.g. minutes switch 5, is held operative for longer than the predetermined time the correcting input signal MIN Fig. 2 previously provided by a control circuit 7 to a divider/driver circuit 3 is replaced by signal e.g. at 8HZ so that the minutes portion will be advanced rapidly until the switch is released. Thus to avoid overshoot when setting the minutes time display, correction may be at the fast rate until the minutes display approaches the correct indication whereupon the switch 5 is released and the display brought up to the correct indication by one or more momentary operations of switch 5. For correction of the hours and seconds similar control circuits 7 (not shown) are provided between the switches 4, 6 and the H. S. inputs of the frequency divider and driver circuit 3. The main input to circuit 3 is from a quartz crystal controlled oscillator 1. The control circuit 7 is illustrated in Fig. 3 (not shown). The timepiece may include day and date indication which may be similarly corrected individually.
