Abstract

1404514 Electronic timepieces SUWA SEIKOSHA K K 17 April 1973 [17 April 1972] 18462/73 Heading G3T A wholly electronic timepiece with liquid crystal or light-emitting diode display is provided with a setting and correcting arrangement including a selector switch SS, Fig. 2, for selection of the portion of the display to be corrected, a correcting switch SA which when operated causes a correcting pulse signal to be applied by a control circuit 12 to correct the selected display part, and means to indicate the display part selected. This means comprises visibly flickering the affected display portion by means of a relatively low frequency signal (e.g. 20HZ or less) derived at terminal F of a frequency divider chain I of the timepiece. The time display elements LW, LD, LH, LM, LS are normally driven by signals from outputs DEC of respective decoders 11 to 7 through NAND gates controlled by outputs from terminals Wb, Db, Hb, Mb, Sb of the control unit 12, detailled in Fig. 3 (not shown) to display the date, day, hours, minutes and seconds respectively. To correct the minutes indication for example, the selector switch SS, switch SA also a safety switch SL are simultaneously operated, so that a correcting pulse signal is supplied from output terminal Ma of unit 12 to the adjusting signal input ADJ of the minutes divider 3. The minutes display is thereby caused to increase by one unit each time switch SA is depressed by the user. The safety switch SL is provided to prevent accidental operation of the correction circuits, being switched to its blocking state for normal running by pushing in a crown and vice-versa when it is desired to correct the time displayed.
