Abstract

1429443 Child proof container D L WHITE 24 April 1974 17910/74 Heading B8T A flexible plastics or rubber insert 4 serves as a closure for a tubular pill container 1 the closed end of which is formed into a facsimile of a conventional cap 2. The closure comprises a frusto-conical member 5 closed at its narrow end by a wall 8. In one embodiment (Fig. 1), the open end of the member 5 is integral with an annular flange 6 which engages the interior of the container wall in sealing relationship. In a second embodiment (Fig. 2) the wall 9 of member 5 is integral with an annular member 11 which replaces flange 6 and likewise engages the container interior in sealing relationship. Removal of the closure is effected by insertion of a finger into the frusto-conical member 5 to distort the insert thus enabling it to be withdrawn from the container. A frangible membrane 10 may cover the open end of the insert to discourage illicit opening.
