Abstract
1427046 Lamps DANIEL WOODHEAD Inc 7 Nov 1973 [25 May 1973] 51606/73 Heading F4R A hand lamp comprises a hollow handle 11, a lamp bulb socket 13 mounted in the upper end of the handle, and a lamp bulb protecting member 20 also mounted on the upper end of the handle, the front section 21 of the member being made of wires or bars and being pivotally supported at its upper end on the rear section 22 of the member so as to be openable to give access to the bulb. The lower leg portions 56 of the sidemost wires or bars 27, 28 are adapted to be resiliently latched behind a pair of spaced plates 58, 59 secured to the handle when the front section is in the closed position. The central wires or bars 26 are joined at their lower ends by a plate or bar (70) which fits beneath a projecting lip (72) to form an additional latch, and the upper ends of the wires or bars are bent to form parallel legs 26a, 36, 37 (Fig. 5), with hooked ends 35 (Fig. 1) which are engaged in apertures 34 in a pair of discs 32, 33 to form the pivotal support. The rear section 22 of the member, which carries the discs 32, 33, may be of similar construction to the front section and form therewith a complete cage, or may alternatively be a solid metal reflector.
