Abstract

1426986 Fibre feed in openers PENZENSKY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY EXPERIMENTALNO KONSTRUKTORSKY INSTITUT PRYADILNYKH MASHIN 27 June 1974 28490/74 Heading D1N A fibre opener for open-end spinning machines has an opening roller and feed roller 4 mounted in cavities in a housing, the feed roller being driven via a clutch member 12, loosely mounted on the feed roller, which drives a clutch member 11 firmly fixed to a shaft 13, the shaft 13 passing through a cavity 17 in the feed roller and being angularly engaged with the feed roller e.g. by a key 19, means being provided to move the shaft axially to engage the clutch. The clutch is so engaged by a spring 22 and is disengaged by a means 24 for moving shaft 13 in direction B. The means 24 may be a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder, a cam or a lever. Clutch member 12 has a toothed periphery which engages a drive gear.
