1426608 Fuel injection pumps NIPPONDENSO CO Ltd 27 July 1973 [31 July 1972] 35812/73 Heading F1A In a cam actuated recriprocating plunger fuel injection pump, the plunger is rotatable to vary the quantity of fuel injected and has two curvilinear control edges 25 or 35 and 26 or 36 which respectively, close and open an inlet and spill port to determine the beginning and end of fuel injection and provide a non-linear variation of the fuel injection starting point with fuel injection quantity. The two control edges may be either convex Fig. 3, or concave Fig. 4 with reference to the free end of the plunger to provide different operating characteristics for the pump and the control edge 26/36 is defined by a groove which communicates with an axial bore 29 in the plunger.
