Abstract

PURPOSE:To delay injection and reduce noises at the time of slow revolution and low load of an engine, by providing a control sleeve on a plunger of a distribution- type fuel injection pump. CONSTITUTION:Fuel introduced from a fuel inlet pipe 4 into a pump chamber 3 is injected into cylinders through a delivery valve 15 and injection valves by the plunger 8 which is swung and moved right and left by a governor lever 18. The plunger 8 is provided with main ports 16 and pre-travel ports 42, which are opened or closed by a control valve 17 to return excess fuel into the pump chamber 3. An oblique guide groobe 43 is provided on the lower part of the sleeve 17. An adjusting bolt 45, which comes into contact with the groobe 43, is fixed on a casing 23. Thus, the movement of the sleeve 17 is delayed by the groove 43 when the engine speed is low.
