Abstract

PURPOSE: To vary the timing of injecting fuel from a high pressure pump into a crlinder by installing a bypass passage in a fuel injection internal combustion engine, which communicates a high pressure fuel pump with a low pressure fuel pump and is provided with a continuously-closed solenoid valve.
CONSTITUTION: A plunger 1, laid between a high pressure and a low pressure fuel pump not illustrated, is moved according to the operational conditions of an engine. A pin 5 is extended in the circumferential direction of the plunger 1 and a roller ring 6 is connected to one end of the pin 5 and receives the motion of the plunger 1 to vary the fuel amount injected into each cylinder. A bypass passage 21 is installed below the plunger 1, whose continuously-closed solenoid valve 3 is opened by a vehicle speed switch 4a, a transmission switch 4b, and a thermal switch 4c. Opening the valve 3 makes a pump pressure applied on both ends of the plunger 1 so that the injection timing is corrected and varied
