Abstract
1425704 Fluidized bed combustion apparatus BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 7 June 1973 [16 June 1972] 28232/72 Heading F4B A fluidized bed furnace comprises a combustion chamber 1 provided with boiler tubes 3 and supplied with primary air and fuel from a gasification chamber 2 and with secondary air from a line 6, the supply of primary and secondary air being sufficient to maintain the whole bed in a fluidized condition. Oil is supplied to the furnace from a reservoir 4 and primary air from a line 5 enters tubes 7 through holes 8 and delivers entrained oil to the gasification chamber 2. Further primary air enters the chamber 2 through apertures 10. The cross-sectional area of the gasification chamber 2 is 15-35% of that of the whole bed.
