Abstract

1424065 Fastening device SANGAMO WESTON Ltd 28 March 1974 [28 March 1973] 1496/73 Heading F2H A fastening device for insertion in an aperture in a component to receive a co-operating screw-threaded member comprises a head portion 10 having an internal screw-thread 12, a flange 14 arranged to seat against one face around the aperture, and at laest two axially extending legs 18 provided with barbs 22 for engaging against an opposite face about the aperture. The device may be a one-piece moulding of synthetic plastics material. The flange 14 may be provided with diametrically opposed flats to prevent rotation of the device when fitted in the component. Each barb may have tapered inner and outer surfaces 26. In use, a screw may be screwed into the fastening device mounted in an aperture from the barbed end (Fig. 3, not shown).
