Abstract

1423623 Electroless deposition of nickel SOC ANON BREVELCO 8 May 1973 [8 May 1972] 21812/73 Heading C7F [Also in Division D1] An electric iron or ironing machine has its aluminium or aluminium alloy heating and ironing surface electrolessly coated with Ni. The aluminium alloy preferably contains 8-13% Si and the Ni coating is heated to between 150‹C and the melting point of the aluminium or alloy. The Ni is deposited from a standard electroless solution containing nickel sulphate, sodium hypophosphite, lactic acid and propionic acid at 95‹C and the Ni coating contains 4-10%P.
