Abstract

1423475 Battery terminal seal J AUERBACH B GAVISH and M ABIR 25 April 1974 [4 Oct 1973] 18112/74 Heading H1B [Also in Division H2] The lead terminal post 11 of a lead-acid battery is sealed by pitch or resin 16 poured into the annular space between the post and an upstanding flange 15 on the battery cover 14 after insertion of a seal ring 15a, and a domeshaped cap 17 of plastics material abuts a ridge 12 on the post and has a close fit on the post and overhangs the flange 15 but does not touch it. A copper bar 18 is cast into the post 11.
