Abstract

Jackets and covers.-The inner side walls of a tyre cover are provided with ribs 2 to engage grooves 3, 13 in a resilient member 4 fitted between the air-tube (or tubes) 5 and the cover. The member 4, which may be continuous or in interlocking sections, has a ribbed tread portion; and its inner edges may be spaced apart (as shown in Fig. 1) or may overlap (Fig. 2) so as completely to enclose the air-tube. The ribs 2 and grooves 3, 13 may be discontinuous so as to prevent circumferential creeping.
