Abstract

281,457. Rapson, F. L. Nov. 4, 1926. Tread bands, pro. jections, and surfaces. -A tyre cover, particularly of the kind described in Specification 229,166, the casing of which has a flattened tread portion b, is formed with a reserve tread e adapted for use when the narrower primary tread f is worn away. The tread f is formed with continuous circumferential ribs i and intermediate ribs k having spaced transverse grooves j. The grooves j extend in to the top tread f only, but the circumferential grooves g extend into the lower tread e. The latter is formed at its extended side portions m with spaced transverse grooves n. Specification 281,453 also is referred to.
