Abstract
1419674 Prefabricated structures H J SCHMIDT 1 Oct 1973 [20 Oct 1972] 45865/73 Headings E1A and E1W A reinforced concrete building structure is made up basically from pre-fabricated units comprising a combination of column units e.g. 1, with integral plate-like heads, e.g. 2 extending outwardly from each side of the column, and approximately half-way towards the adjoining column on at least one side, together with floor slabs, e.g. 4, of the same thickness as the heads, and supported at their ends thereby to be flush therewith. The jointing edges may be retracted as shown, with space left at the top for in-situ concrete, with projecting reinforcement providing bonding, and a full layer of in-situ concrete topping may be provided as well. Laterally adjacent slabs 4 are also grouted together. The joint at the foot of each column unit may be flexible or rigid; in the former case lateral restraint may be gained from an adjacent building. Cantilever slabs 13 may be attached to steel pins 14 projecting from the heads 2.
