Abstract

1418862 Space heating or cooling device NORDZENT TEKNIK AB 9 Jan 1973 [23 Nov 1972] 20802/75 Divided out of 1418351 Heading F4S A space cooling or heating device serving also as a sound-absorbing baffle and intended to be suspended vertically below a ceiling, comprises a U-shaped casing 2 having heat exchange tubing (carrying a heating or cooling fluid) attached, e.g. by welding or by an adhesive, to each of its upright side walls 4, 5, the walls being spaced apart by a distance exceeding twice the tubing diameter whereby a vertical passage 9 is formed within the element for air passing therethrough by convection via openings such as perforations 10 in the base of the casing. The tubing may comprise portions such as 7 and 8 of a single tube coil 6 as shown in Figs. 1 and 2; or, as shown in Fig. 5, the tubing may comprise separate tube coils 6, 16 attached one to each of the casing side walls. The said walls may be recessed to receive the tubing (Fig. 5), and may also have perforations 12 therein, Fig. 1. The ends of the casing may be closed (Fig. 3). The device may be suspended from a false ceiling by means 15, Fig. 1, or by hook means such as shown in Fig. 5.
