Abstract

1453061 Lighting fittings K G FRENGER 7 Nov 1973 [7 Nov 1972] 51739/73 Heading F4R A lighting fitting comprises two parallel channel sections 1<SP>1</SP> each containing holders 8 for respective lighting tubes 2, the channels having side walls which together form a double partition wall 5 between the tubes 2 and the wall 5 having a recess for receiving a cooling tube 6, the recess being located below the top wall of the fitting and above the level of the tubes 2. The wall 5 may define a housing for control gear 13. The fitting may be perforated at 16 and a reflective foil 15 may be disposed outside or inside the channels. A heat and/or sound insulating mat 14 may be provided. The cooling tube 6 may be enclosed by the walls of the partition, as shown, pipe joints (10, 11) being provided at the ends of the fitting so that a plurality of fittings can be connected end to end. Alternatively, the recess may be open at the top so that the fitting can be installed from below on to an existing cooling tube, clamping means being provided for holding the tube in contact with the bottom of the recess.
