Abstract

1418777 Squirrel cage rotors SIEMENS AG 29 March 1973 [29 March 1972] 15279/73 Heading H2A A squirrel cage rotor with a laminated core 11 and an injection moulded cage comprising conductor bars 7, 8 and end rings 5, 6 has lacquer or varnish insulating material 3, 4 provided on the end laminations 1, 2 of the core whereby to insulate the rings from the end laminations, the insulating material having a high resistance compared with the resistance between the conductor bars and the parts of the core between the ends. The material, which may also be applied at 9, 10 in the conductor bar grooves at the ends of the core, is coated on to the rotor by spraying or immersion before the cage is moulded, the end laminations being coated either before or after assembling the core, as desired. The laminations may be surface oxidized annealed plates.
