Abstract

1,124,937. Windings and insulation for electric machines. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 19 Dec., 1966 [22 Dec., 1965], No. 56745/66. Heading H2A. A dynamo-electric machine rotor has a laminated or sintered oxide core 1 having windings 3 lying in slots in the periphery of the core with the winding connections passed through plate 5, of insulating material, and soldered to printed connectors which are integral with commutator segments 6. Thermoplastic insulating material is then spray cast around the end windings at 9 and in the space 11 between the core and commutator plate and into the top of the winding slots at 10. Plate 5 may be further secured by spray casting a ring 14 of insulating material over the connections 8. Shaft 16 may be provided by spray casting or an aperture 13 may be formed for the reception of a shaft.
