Abstract

1500955 Machines with permanent magnet rotors TELDIX GmbH 11 April 1975 [11 April 1974 17 March 1975] 15040/75 Heading H2A In a machine having a stator with a polyphase winding 2 mounted on a non-magnetic non-conductive body 1, a rotor 10 with permanent magnets 14 is mounted on a bearing pin 16 which is located in a cylindrical bearing bushing 17 disposed in a cylindrical axially extending bore in the stator body 1, and the rotor is supported resiliently relative to the stator by means of at least one elastic ring 19 around the bushing 17. In the motor arrangement shown, the body 1 is of ceramic material and is positioned on a non-conducting mandrel 9, preferably also of non-magnetic material. The rotor 10 is joined to a spinning turbine 12, and includes a ring magnet 23 for co-operating with a stator magnet 22 for providing axial location of the rotor. The conductors of the winding 2 are formed by twisted wires (29, Fig. 2, not shown). In a further embodiment (Figs. 3-5, not shown), single-conductor phase windings with pre-formed shaped coils (35, 36, 37, 43) are arranged overlapping one another in grooves (34) in the exterior surface of a stator body (31), and on the inside of a rotor (32) having permanent magnets (55-60) grouped in the threes on its interior. A static electronic commutation unit (52) is provided with rotorposition signals via a wire (53) of each phase. The stator winding may be on a smooth, non- grooved stator body, as in Fig. 6 (not shown), and the coil sides may be wedge-shaped. Internal rotor/external stator and planar air gap motors and generators are also envisaged but not described.
