Abstract

1300996 Permanent magnet generators; construction of cores KELSEY-HAYES CO 3 April 1970 [21 April 1969] 16092/70 Heading H2A A stator assembly comprises a structure of low reluctance powdered material 34 cast around a bobbin 12 and coil 16. The coil is circumferentially wound on the bobbin which has interdigitated grooves on its inner periphery, these grooves being filled with the cast material forming pole pieces 24a, 26a, for co-operating with permanent magnets 40 on a rotor 38. The cast material is a mixture of ferromagnetic powder and a resin. The whole machine may operate as a speed sensor in motor vehicles.
