1417959 Seals for tanks with floating roofs GREENGATE INDUSTRIAL POLYMERS Ltd and NAYLER (PETROSEALS) Ltd 16 March 1973 [18 Dec 1971] 28683/71 Heading E1T A floating roof for a liquid storage tank is provided with a seal consisting of a plurality of individual sealing elements 6 of polygonal cross-section which each consist of a flock of synthetic foam material covered by an abrasion and liquid resistant rubber or plastics material secured to a backing plate 5, each plate 5 being bolted to the rim 3 of the roof and supported at the lower edge on a channel 4 formed on the side wall of the roof. The ends of adjacent elements 6 are releasably interconnected by hook and loop members, or by moulded end caps or by tape, see Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
