Abstract

1416550 Steam generator assembly ELECTRICITE DE FRANCE (SERVICE NATIONAL) 29 Dec 1972 [29 Dec 1971] 60044/72 Heading F4A A steam generator assembly comprises a hollow supporting structure 1 and a vertical boiler 7 suspended within the structure from a horizontal, inwardly projecting portion 3; the structure 1 tapering to a chimney portion at its upper end and resting on a foundation 2. The structure 1 is preferably formed as a pre-stressed or reinforced concrete shell and has the general form of a truncated cone. Tie-rods 13 attached to the boiler 7 are suspended from a rectangular framework of beams having sides 4, 5 and each corner of this framework is carried on a support 6 resting on the portion 3; the weight of the boiler being transferred to the structure at eight approximately equidistant points in the ends of the supports 6. The flue gases are discharged through an aperture defined by parts 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b and pass via an air heating regenerator 8 to a metal flue 9.
