Abstract

1416509 Agitator mills NETZSCH MASCHINENFABRIK Gebr 7 March 1974 [10 March 1973] 10280/74 Heading B2A [Also in Division F2] An agitator mill comprises a container 1 closed by a cover 14 through which projects an agitator shaft 11 which is unsupported at its lower end, also a sealing housing 21 enclosing a shaft seal for sealing the container and arranged outside and axially spaced from the cover, or an outlet chamber 15 fixed on it, by a gap which is bridged by a cylindrical flexible sleeve 18 entering the agitator shaft 11 with a radial clearance. The container which is small relative to its diameter has a cooling jacket, and the shaft 11 is also cooled. Discharge of ground material is via an outlet 5 from the outlet chamber 15 which includes spinner rings 17 and may be cooled. The shaft is driven by a motor 6 mounted in a stand 3 via a V-belt 7. The agitator shaft includes bars 12 which cooperate with bars 13 fixed on the inside wall of the container. The sleeve 18 has end flanges 19 and is made of e.g. p.t.f.e. Each flange is reinforced by a washer 20. The lower flange is compressed between a washer 20 and a flange of the outlet chamber 15 and the upper flange is fixed to a flange of the sealing housing 21 which are arranged sealing rings 22 preferably made of p.t.f.e. rotating with shaft 11 and cooperating with stationary slip rings.
