Abstract

1464560 Conical mills F J ZUCKER and H H AUER [trading as SUPRATON AUER & ZUCKER OHG] 21 March 1974 [24 March 1973] 12688/74 Heading B2A A conical mill comprises conical members cooperating with a second member there being a tapering annular gap between them, two oppositely-directed coaxial frustoconical members 3, 4 being secured on a rigid shaft 8 and the second member 5 rotating about them. The shaft is adjustabe by an adjusting ring 16. Member 4 is fixed to the shaft 8 by screws 12 and a key 13 and a closure member 14, and member 3 is secured by a key 20 which permits axial displacement of member 3 along the shaft 8. Material is fed through the shaft by a bore 21 which leads to a zone 22 between the members 3, 4. Ground material is discharged into a vessel 51 via a bore 24 from the outer ends of the frustoconical members 3, 4. Feed is pumped from a container 48 by a pump 47. The housing 5 is surrounded by a heating/ cooling jacket 34 with inlet/outlet pipes 36, 37. The housing 1 is rotated by a motor 46 via a clutch 45 and stub shaft 39. The frusto-conical members may alternatively be heated or cooled.
